Tom has broad experience as a commercial litigator, having practised for 6 years in Hong Kong and for 2½ years in Melbourne before coming to the Bar.

Tom graduated from Melbourne University with honours in law and arts (Chinese and politics), and was the highest-placed combined honours graduate in the Faculty of Arts in 1998.

Tom speaks conversational Mandarin, and reads simplified and traditional Chinese to a professional standard. He is admitted as a legal practitioner in New South Wales, Hong Kong and England.
