The practice of the law is no longer confined to a particular country.  The world wide web has changed the way how businesses and corporations operate.  More and more corporations have offices in different parts of the world. While law firms have grown nationally and internationally, Bar Associations have principally remained localised.

CommBar recognises that in order to fulfill our role as a world class legal association representing commercial Barristers , we must look beyond our shores, and find innovative ways to represent our clients in their legal matters.

Many foreign corporations now prefer to resolve their disputes either by way of arbitration or mediation.  Engaging in litigation in a foreign jurisdiction takes enormous amount of time and money, with no certainty of a final resolution.

Recognising the rising demand of this growing segment of the market, the Executive Committee is currently developing strategies to collaborate with our counterparts in the Asia Pacific region, and provide a business model which will enable our clients to continue to use our services abroad.
