Sports

Members of the Sports Law Section are barristers who practise and have an interest in sports related legal issues providing legal advice to major sporting organisations, club officials and athletes.

Many of our members serve as sitting Members of Sporting Tribunals on the International, National and Domestic levels and act as Mediators and Consultants in a whole range of sports related issues.

The Sports Law Committee also arranges topics and speakers to speak on sports-related issues. For example:

    • Power Procedure and Principles for Domestic Sporting Tribunals;
    • Liability of Medical Practitioners in Relation to Sporting Injuries;
    • Introduction to the Jurisdiction and Practice of The Court of Arbitration for Sport;
    • Appearing Before The Court of Arbitration for Sport;
    • AFL Doping Policy;
    • Racing Appeals;
    • Drugs in Sport.
